Changing the world is not something we can do alone. It is a collective effort, and yet we all have an important role to play. Prior to the peace summit, I held a view that if I just tried hard enough or sacrificed enough; I would be able to change the world. My efforts were frustrated when I saw that even when I tried my hardest, the changes I made were not big ones. It was in this frustration that the peace summit first found me.

I encountered many different kinds of people at the summit. Different, yet all the same in that we all had the drive to create change. Our energy for peace united us. As we proceeded to discuss ideas, share dreams and create plans for a better world,

I learnt that I am not alone in my desires. I learnt that the reason my efforts were frustrated was that I was looking at myself too much. But upon encountering kindred minds at the summit, I began to understand that purpose isn’t about my individualistic efforts. We can accomplish change on our own, but together we can go further.

The peace summit was the platform upon which people that had dreams too big for one man to carry, could share them with others so that together, in a united effort, we could bring these dreams to life. Because of this, I recommend this summit to anyone with a dream of a better world. Big or small. The summit is not just another event, it is a stage for synergy, a platform for actualising dreams and a podium on which we can carry the dreams of others.
