I began my transformational journey as a delegate of the inaugural Peace Summit of Emerging Leaders in 2018. It was the first time I had been exposed to the remarkable work of Humanitarian Affairs Asia.
At the United Nations Conference Centre, in a room surrounded by passionate and like-minded individuals from around the globe, I told myself that I needed to be part of this global community.
Little did I know that just one year later, I would join the HA family and become part of the team giving that same opportunity to other deserving youth for the Peace Summit of Emerging Leaders 2020.
From the beginning of my Global Partnership Associate experience, I was astounded by the level of dedicated training and world-leading mentorship. Mr Kim Solomon and Janice Leong will forever hold a special place in my heart, as mentors who have left me beyond inspired.
There is a moment in each of our lives where we make a decision that later steers us on a life-changing course. For me, that moment was joining the team at Humanitarian Affairs Asia.
HA is the embodiment of global youth empowerment and serves with a committed mission to be a leader of positive social change. It is a true honour to be part of this movement. I leave my internship experience knowing that this is just the beginning of a new chapter – now with that same extraordinary energy that is HA.
